Find the fault before the flood does
A flood gauge only earns its keep during an event, and that’s exactly when a hidden fault shows up. Our scheduled servicing finds those faults first. Every visit is tested, calibrated and written up, so you know what was found, what was fixed and what’s coming up.
Each station gets its own report: arrival and departure values, calibration results, photos, what was replaced and what we recommend next. We keep a spares and equipment register for your network, flag assets nearing end of life before they fail, and service Hydrological Services, Observator, Campbell Scientific, ELPRO and ALERT/ALERT2 equipment, including networks built by others.
What’s included
- Annual pre-wet season service and calibration
- Water level: full-range pressure calibration with a traceable calibrator, bubble rate, purge and leak test
- Rainfall: field calibration with a flow-controlled device, funnel and syphon clean, level check
- Power: battery load tests, solar and regulator checks, planned battery replacement
- Telemetry: forward/reflected power and SWR, values confirmed at the base station
- Structure, enclosure, locks, vegetation and safety checks
- Fault call-outs and repairs between services

Annual maintenance program, South East Queensland council
We’ve run this council’s pre-wet season maintenance program since 2020, covering rain and river stations, ALERT radio telemetry and base station links. The example here is a creek station brought back to full health: the old bubbler, battery and rain gauge were replaced, then the whole site was re-tested from sensor to base station.
